Jones was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday, with patellar tendinitis in his left knee. Jones is a victim of poor play, injury and a numbers game in a crowded outfielder after the Dodgers acquired former Boston slugger Manny Ramirez.
The former Braves slugger Jones is batting just .153 with one homer and seven runs batted in since returning from his previous trip to the DL on July 4. On the season, Jones is hitting just .161 with three homers and 14 RBI in 74 games.
Garciaparra last played July 27 versus Washington. He suffered irritation in his left knee during the top of the fifth frame in that game. Garciaparra is batting just .279 with five homers and 19 runs batted in over 27 games this season.

In his first game as the new starting guard this past Sunday, Foye had 10 points; five rebounds and 8 assists. More importantly, he logged 34 minutes of playing time; his third highest run of the season.
Adam Morrison, of the Charlotte Bobcats, was the favorite early on in the season after averaging 15+ PPG through the first month of the season. Ever since his torrid start, Morrison’s point production has declined each month. This really isn’t surprising, considering at 6’8” he only weighs 205 lbs. Obviously he will need to hit the weights big time during the off-season in order to keep from breaking down in the future.
